Is there any benefits to entering the championship other than comparing to other peoples overall times...
I'm not competitive yet so the only reason I'd pay my £15 entry fee is to be more official to losing against Sandy and Mike Biss...
...although in fairness, looking at the last years results and the way the scoring works, Mike won overall by double the points of 2nd place mostly because the 2nd place runner did 1/2 as many races - I could contend for a 3rd or 4th purely by turning up to more events!

LOL, not sure i'll do much next year, so your clear Championship contenders are less likely to get turned away when an event is oversubscribed, which happens quite frequently. Other championships are available, ASWMC, WAMC, CMSG etc, pick one that does events in areas you'd like to go to and have a ball.

Well, it looks a laugh so I'll give it a go.
Ive seen the ASWMC and CMSG ones, whats everyone else entering?
...it also looks like through the scoring system you can get fairly high on the board just for turning up, as a lot of attendees don't do all the races - in the CMSG last year I'd have got 3rd just for turning up as there was only 2 in class!

Yes CMSG was quite undersubscribed some people didn't like the scoring system last year and rather than buck up their ideas and drive better they moaned a lot probably putting others off and moved to other championships where they might do better.
Shame really but no matter what the regs are you can't make everyone happy.

Me and James (the silver 1.6 I'm usually with) will definitely do one of the championships next season, I'd told him he is doing it on a text message, he seemed ok with it. I take it I could enter more than one, and that if you run an event that counts towards both championships then your time goes to both, though from what Ive seen the registration forms for the ones I've done so far only ask for the details of one. How is that bit done when you are in 2?

I'll give the BMC MX% challenge a miss, Purely because I'm not kitted out for it - I wouldn't be able to get a helmet, suit and rollbar before the start of the season. Maybe next year for that kind of stuff.
I'll get on the CMSG I think, not too big a field and lots of it are local.
