Scratchin my nut here kids, anyone help me???
I was given an OMP seat to throw in and out of my Mk1 for trackdays and duly procured a set of side mounting brackets, MX5 specific. Now these all bolt down nicely to the floor using the original anchor points however if i bolt down the brackets first i then cant get the bolts thru the transmission tunnel side and into the seat. If i mount the seat to the brackets first then all good but then i cant access the rear floor mounting bolts to tighten down....................any ideas appreciated,
cheers Darren

These things are a total Canoe.
I've got one on the passenger side. I put the front side bolts in loose, left the rears out. Then bolted it to the floor by tilting it forward with front floor Ines done up. Then I tightened up the front side ones and then spent an hour swearing at the rear side ones till they were done up.
Frankly if it's just for the drivers seat bolt it to a set of standard runners. You can have it in and out in 5 mins then.
Be warned though. You'll fit it and never take it out. Buckets in 5s are awesome.

cheers Nick,
to be honest the seat i have is a bit claustrophobic to keep in all the time and probably not the most comfortable-ist......i have messaged the guy on here with a pair of cobras for sale which might suit. As regards to bolting the standard runners to the seat, these sit too wide to get any fixings into the seat base hence the procurement of the side mounts. i also think that welding the runners to the sidemounts would then bring the seat height up too far.
im sure i'll sort something out, the standard seat is not too bad with the rear foam extraction that it now wears,
Darren

You want a SPrint5. Best bucket seat in 5. Brilliant things and well suited to your skinny frame.
