Evening guys,
whilst removing the diff today I have sheared a bolt. Looking to sell this on as is in superb condition with no rust issues and has the brackets for the lower brace. What's the best way to sort this F up I've made.

If penetrating oil fails then heat is probably the answer.
As Horney says ^^ pics will help so the coolective (sp?) can see what/where and offer further advice.

On my old 5 i just ground it off and didnt replace, doesnt it just locate a clip for something, I remember thinking it wasnt massively important!!

It's one of the two studs that hold the plate covering the bottom of the diff mount. Never really though about it but I suppose it's to provide lateral support for the free end of big stud that goes through the diff mount. I guess one bolt is probably okay but not ideal if you intend to sell it on.
The obvious repair would be to drill it out, put a bolt through the hole and tack weld its head into place. (Or sell it as-is and let the buyer repair it by drilling and using a nut and bolt instead.)

I think I left mine with one and the car is still going strong years later with no issues AFAIK

Thanks for the input guys. Think I'll sell it as is, don't have access to a welder and doubt it would be worth the cost of me getting it sorted as see some have sold on evilbay for £15. Will do some checking. Is 1990 frame and has the brakets for the lower brace so maybe worth something to someone.
