Any air rifle enthusiasts on here? I am in the market for a pcp rifle that I can use for plinking but will also be respectable enough for club shooting/HFT. I was looking to spend up to £600 on a second hand Weihrauch HW100S or a Daystate Hunter Classic. Might also consider a new BSA Ultra XL at around £500. However, I have been offered a lightly used Walther Rotex R8 c/w bi-pod, Nikko Sterling Mountmaster 4x16 50 illuminated scope and 3x magazines for £300 by a friend. Of these which do you think would suit me best as a first rifle? (Subject to me shooting all 3). Here is the Walther. . .

I can certaining recommend the air arms s510 super light, it's stunning and sooo accurate. The weihrach and daystates are excellent but so so heavy in comparison. Overall all 3 are very good IMO just come down to personal preference. Good luck!

Ps all the rifles you mentioned, and the AA, will be more accurate than you, so don't worry. Perhaps go for the cheap Rotex?

Have my heart set on a Weihrauch HW100KT FSB .177 now but am testing the Rotex on Thursday. AA s510 looks nice too. Was looking at the 410s before. I've also been offered a lightly used BSA Ultra SE with scope, bag, diving bottle and probe and gun safe for £550 by a family member now!

Following with interest
I've been pondering getting a rifle for a while, and I'm very impressed with the build quality and accuracy of my Weihrauch HW75 pistol.

My feeling at the moment is that the Weihrauch is expensive but you get what you pay for. I'm a great believer in waiting a while and saving then buying the best. The engineering excellence, proficiency and look of the HW100 series really appeal to me.
Have seen mixed reviews for all rifles except the Weihrauch, which seem universally positive.

Well, after spending weeks watching reviews on to Internet, and having visiting Ronnie Sunshines shop in Berkhampstead last week (where I got drawn in by one of their customers who let me shoot his rifles on the range: BSA R10 SE and Daystate Wolverine), I decided I HAD to get a rifle.
So today I have committed, pushed the button, blew the budget (in a BIG way) and ordered the following:
Weihrauch .177 HW100 KT FSB (Carbine, Thumbhole stock, fully shrouded barrel) combo kit.
The package includes: Hawke Vantage+ 4-16x50 AO IR (mil-dot reticle and an adjustable objective lens), Hawke double screw mounts HW100 Accessory fitting kit Deben Adjustable (9-13''), tilting Bi-pod Butler Creek Rhino Rib sling fitted with QD swivels Blackline Rifle Hard Case, 2x14 shot magazines, tin of pellets and free Lifetime servicing and warranty (Store is local, so no carriage charges).
Also ordered a 4ltr charging bottle and hose (5 year certificate) with carry handle.
That's my whole MX5 parts and modding budget gone for the year!
Don't care though. So excited and can't wait to pick it up next week. I've wanted to take up target shooting for over 20 years.

Good choice enjoy! The safety location on those is the best, and super slick lever.

Wow, that's quite a spec. I thought the budget air pistol I bought for my dad a year or so ago was badass, but this is next level.
