Hi everyone Thought id start a build thread of my car already halfway through, So this car started off as my misses car which she bought cause she drove my old 5 and loved it and couldn't keep using her classic mini as a daily, This is what she was like when i bought her from the lady, I've done a lot to it since then and now this is how she sits Here is a list of whats been done! Meister R coilovers Cusco Cage with door bars Watanabe split wheels Oem Splitter Mx5 parts dual exhaust 323 cam cover I have a lot more to do to the car over the coming months i.e. alloy rad, bucket seat and just a general tidy up of the car. I haven't wanted to go too mad with the mods at the moment as its still a daily and a lot of funds going towards buying a house but its slowly getting there. I will get some more detailed photos over the course of the weekend to add. I hope this didn't bore you to death too much! Also where do you guys store photos to use on posts as I've had to use these as attachments and couldn't add many photos Thanks for Reading and ill keep you all posted with the progress Simple_enigma Ben

Hi Ben. I use Photobucket and/or flickr to host my photos and then paste them in threads. It's a pain on mobile but easier on a proper computer.

So first update! Managed to get some more photos of the car in its current state. So today consisted of driving to wheelynutz to grab a bucket seat which he had up for sale and fit that along with a full service and replace a leaky cam cover gasket! What a day it was beautiful sunshine and warm too, Got to cribbys and fitted the bucket seat which felt much better than the standard seat the only problem was that it was a bit high on the standard rails so as soon as i got home i would be dropping the seat down. Had a slight problem dropping the seat as one of the nuts underneath would allow me to drop the seat enough so out come the angle grinder and gave it a little trim up! the photo above shows how it sits now which for me is perfect. Once that job was done i cracked one with doing an oil change along with plugs and the gasket replacement which to my surprise all went really well, i managed to grab some more photos just before the light ran out too.
I have a new steering wheel arriving in the week so will have that fitted next week and a few other bits ready for its MOT. Thanks for reading Simple_enigma

Looking good, how do you find the seat? Ive just fitted a Sparco to mine mainly because of trackwork but its too restrictive for everyday use. Have to dislocate my shoulder to open the widows, unscrew both legs to get over the thigh supports getting in and out and swivel my head through 720 degrees to get the seat belt........apart from that its ok😊 trackwise much better but the tombstone with rear foam removes will be going back in for road use D

So another weekend and some more time to work on the car! So first things first was my steering wheel that i bought from James Handy turned up, needs a little refurb but ill get round to that in time, also took a trip up to skuzzle to pay a visit to Mr Horne to get some bits off him from his mk1 that he is breaking walked away with a Gv splitter, Headlights, front drivers wing, rear bumper and a headlight cover all bits i need to tidy the car up a bit anyway heres some photos from the install. MX5 by Ben Matthews, on Flickr MX5 by Ben Matthews, on Flickr MX5 by Ben Matthews, on Flickr Even got the misses out to give it a wax! as you can see in the above no more lacquer peel finally and its looking so much better with the new splitter too, only problem i came across was removing the two bolts on the wing under the car just in front of the door as they snapped, is it just as easy to drill them out and re tap and install new bolts or is there something else i can do? Next up is Mot and and forge action day so hope to see some of you there! Take care
