I've decided to sell my V6 MX5, I bought it with an idea to fix it up and cruise around in it, but it didn't happen and I just don't seem to get the time to do anything on it.
The engine is a 3.0 V6 out of a Nissan 300zx, so good for about 230bhp as standard. It's normally aspirated, with the Nissan manual gearbox and it's been fitted with the Nissan wiring loom and ecu to keep it all simple.
The car is a 1992 import, there is a Carbing 6 point Roll bar fitted with harness bar and door bars.
It needs work to get it back in the road. It's been sat (started and moved regularly) for a few years so things like the wishbones, brakes and shocks are a bit tired. I have a load of spares for it, including service parts (plugs, filters) and they will all come with the car.
Things I know it needs
The battery cutoff switch needs removing as it's wired in badly and the only way to start the car at the moment is to bypass it with some jump leads
The exhaust needs finishing. I have bought a twin exit stainless steel exhaust and have some other pipe to get it finished.
The diff needs mounting properly. I have a cut down PPF and spacers ready to be fitted, that should be perfect.
The running gear needs a refurb ... I have drop links and adjustable shocks, the wishbones need to be refurbed really.
There probably will be more to sort, nothing difficult but it's not a 5 minute job.
I'm selling it for what it cost me ... all the spares I've bought are a freebie. It was a really cool car when it was on the road, well worth sorting as you're unlikely to see another one!
The car is in Halesowen at the moment but I'm in Hagley, West Midlands which is where the car will be coming shortly.
