Hi. Doing this on my 1.6. Have on my list the adaptor plate and filter but I'm wanting to get the filter further away from the manifold. Is there any disadvantages from having a longer run between the MFA and the filter ? Thanks Chris

No, nothing noticeable. Though changing distance from MAF to throttle body will have an effect similar to changing trumpet length on ITBs/carbs
For future reference, it is AFM (air flow meter) for a 1.6
Or MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor) for a 1.8
