So, I bought this 5 last September can't believe it's nearly six months ago and I'll have to be honest I could have got my finger out sooner and done some more work on it. Anyway, I initially wasn't in the market for a 5 but always fancied one. I was really looking for a Honda Accord Type R since May last year but after seven or eight viewings and lots of miles later I gave up! But all wasn't lost as I ended up with the 5 and I'm delighted I did too.

The car itself overall is o.k.ish, two owners since imported in 2009, low mileage with only 95,000 kms but there's obvious faults.

1. N/s window regulator inop.
2. Stereo surround trim broken (obviously some ape used a crowbar on it!).
3. 2 x tyres required.
4. Full service required including Timing belt.
5. Worn steering wheel mainly on the blue leather section and worn gear knob also. The previous owner was a woman who wore a lot of rings so I suspect that didn't help the leather.
6. Minor bit of wear on the driver's seat bolster.
7. JDM Bose stereo fitted.
8. Bonnet faded.
9. Rear bumper was repainted and it's a shade darker.
10. H/lamps lenses cloudy.
11. Slight exhaust heat shield rattle.
12. Slight crunching going into 1st and 2nd when the gearbox oil is warm.
13. Both Track rod ends gaiters split.
14. N/s/r lamp cracked.
15. Badly sealed/excessive amount of sealant used on the Rocker cover - I can't believe it's no leaking.
16. No Alarm or Immobiliser fitted.
17. Four or five very minor dents on the bodywork, look like typical dents from car parks.
18. Centre console lid hinge broken.
19. Windscreen washer jets useless.
20. Missing - wheel brace, jack handle, owner's handbook and spare key.
21. Front parking and number plate bulbs dull.
22. Air con only semi cold.

Phew! 

Really, all in all nothing major except the only thing that bugs me is the mismatched paint on the rear bumper.

The good news is besides being a 10AE, the roof looks o.k. (original), it drives well and there's no rust in the usual places except for some superficial rust on the rear wishbones and petrol tank shield.

Cleaned one side of the car and polished the alloys.

Changed the steering wheel, it will do until I get the original retrimmed.
