Morning all, In my still-sleepy state this morning I left my keys in the ignition and locked them in the car. It's at work so semi secure, but I'd really like to go home in my car rather than take the train and come back tomorrow with the spare. Does anyone know any tricks in order to retrieve the keys from the ignition with the doors locked? My first thought is to try and simply unlock it with a small, thin tool squeezed through the window and roof rubber. I realise that I'm basically asking how to break in to a 5, but it's my own so that's OK, right?

You're idea sounds the best. Or you can smash the 1/4 light. I'll leave this topic up for a bit but I'll delete it later so it's not searchable.

Yeah, it's not the sort of information you want readily available! I'll give the "slipping something thin and hard" method a try. Otherwise I'll go home and get the spare. What a pickle

You got one of those bendy metal 1m rules? - long and thin, but stiff cross section to slide lock.

We're assuming here you don't have a Mk1 with plastic rear screen?

We're assuming here you don't have a Mk1 with plastic rear screen? Apologies, yes. I have a Mk1 with plastic rear screen. The thought occured that I may be able to unzip it from the outside and skillfully slide in that way.

I won't post how I did it for obvious reasons. Phew! I can go home tonight without resorting to public transport!
