The wheels are marmite for me, but it only matters that you like them (and they look great TBH)

Fear not though, they are 100% temps until something lightweight and desirable takes my fancy

The wheels will look ace, and grey means you don't have to clean them with a toothbrush every week They might have the offset etc stamped into the back of the spokes?

I probably will still be out there with my Wheel Woolies trying to get the brake dust out They offset and measurments are stamped into the lips but are so thickly painted it obscures the detail. It looks to me like they say 14 x 6J et 23/25, MADE IN THE UK and Compomotive but it is a bit unclear. Excited to get rubber fitted but tackling the waterpump this weekend. Coilovers wise, I put BC's on my Celica which were really nice, put Meister R's on a previous Civic which also rode very well. Not sure who to go with for the Mazda. I plan to daily this car and want it to remain comfortable enough but be able to try the hillclimb school days Prescott puts on and maybe some autosolo stuff further down the line. I borrowed a friends Eunos last summer which runs HSD's and it felt like I was getting beaten up. Small bumps in the road made the car feel like it was going to take off and bounce me out of the seat at times so I'm a little put off HSD for mine.

Cool, gave the car it's first clean since I've had it. Full clay, polish then wax. Came up OK, needs some love and the doors are a poor match colour wise, the guy I got it from reckons he put 2 doors on and a new boot lid and bonnet but the doors are defo the weakest match. Anyway blah blah, fitted new rear plate and gave the drain holes a good rodding (whayy). #fiftyshades The new waterpump has sealed and check the coolant each morning and all seems good, did some SRS topless testing over the weekend and all seems solid, fingers crossed I can order some fun things soon.

Checked my original key after seeing a post on Walnutz the other day, low and behold my key is cracked AF! Went to Timpsons sharpish and had 3 spares made up as the last thing I need is a key snapping off in a lock I'm sure all you experienced Mazda friends checked yours straight away when you got the car but if not, worth a look! SWEET M8

Tried to be as cool as Fizbne, followed the ebay link (first ebay purchase ever) and the sticky front plate arrived super fast. Sadly although I asked for the same size as Harris and Tim I ended up with a regular size one, I cri. Great service tho, so fast! If you're reading this Fizbne can you be a hero and measure your front plate so I can order another one but give him the actual dimensions plz. If not no drama man! Thanks

Moving forward: Have been enjoying the car and learning how to drive a fun car over the past week and a few days. So nimble compared to the ruined Celica, joy on 4 little smelly wheels. UNTIL More coolant loss. It's always smelt of coolant but not near the rad or waterpump anymore, more from the back end of the engine. I did some reading and heard about the CURSED WATER PLUG Took the car to my clever friends place of mechanical salvaging, put the front of the car up on ramps and low and behold drippykayayyyy it's crying coolant out the back of the block at the top. Onto the gearbox housing. MUCH SMELL. My friend wrestled with the old crusty clip holding the water butt plug in place and after considerable effort, a crushed finger and some cups of tea got it off. Perished AF. So there is the top half of an engine left at his from parting out a parts car and he fitted the new water plug on for me because he's a top guy and I'm lame. I'm sure again this prarrie canoety little plug is common knowledge but deffo worth checking the condition as they are 25yrs old now and wear is to be expected. IN OTHER NEWS!! Someone in a suburb of my hometown has a silver Eunos for breaking and it has doors which look a better colour match to mine so hoping to go see that this weekend and have a pair of doors which flow with the rest of the body. LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Ordered some Meister R CRD's. I did think about the CRD+ or some BC Racing ones but the spring rates on the base model CRD's are favourable for daily driving. They might arrive by this weekend so fun times ahead THANKS FOR READING
