Just picked up a galaxy s6 today. The excitement of a new toy is pretty short lived having moved up from an s5 but I'm enjoying the TV remote app quite a bit at the moment. Effortless setup and works really well. Here's to changing channels when the footballs on up the pub for something more motors tv

Does it have an IR port then? That's genius! I'd be a proper canoeer with that feature.

I did not know of this tv thing I'm going to try it now. I see endless fun passing off the missus. Edit: wow! That's going to be really useful!

boringgit what happened to your mk1? I think the s6 is an awesome phone but I fear the s7 is a box of gimmicks with all that vr stuff

I nearly held out for the 7 but the 6 dropped in price steeply with the 7 on preorder

I'm about due an upgrade, and after I swapped from an iPhone to a Galaxy S5, i've been adamant i'm going back to an iPhone when my renewal is up because I hate this thing.
However the S7 is the first phone i've seen that's actually tempted me to change my mind on that decision.

I think the iPhone just has the best no canoes given just use it setup but if you fiddle with android it can be so much more efficient and easy

I've recently ditched android for iPhone. After swearing I'd never go back to iPhone! Got tired of android crashing and messing up. iPhone just works...

I'm the opposite had a bad android phone a few years back and stuck with iPhone after... but got fed up of all the updates taking up all the phone space, and it got slow. Switched back to android now and much happier.

As a suggestion to anyone not enjoying android I'd recommend novalauncher or any of the launchers. Give them a whizz before you give up on Android

However the S7 is the first phone i've seen that's actually tempted me to change my mind on that decision. Thats interesting everyone I know who made the switch said it was the best thing they ever did. I think the iPhone just has the best no canoes given just use it setup but if you fiddle with android it can be so much more efficient and easy I know a few friends had S5s and they all claimed they had issues with them too, but switched to S6s and everything was fine. So it could just be that the S5 was a bit, well, prarrie canoe. But it's left me with a sour taste. Plus, I have a Macbook, and iPhones just work well with it. The same thing has also been said by others about how Android is great for playing about with, but I just want a phone that works as a phone, let's me get on the Internet/FB/Instagram, and that's it. I don't want to have to MAKE it work. But yeah, you're right, everyone else does seem to claim it's a great swap to make. When pushed, most claim it's because you 'can't do anything with an iPhone unless apple allow you', 'you have to pay for music' etc etc. The first bit, yeah, ok, but surely it's the same with an Android, unless you root it? I mean, otherwise it'd be 'allowed'. And the second, music can be added to iTunes from external sources easily, so if one were too tight to actually pay for music - or, as is often the case with me anyway, the music comes from independent artists - it can easily be added. I've resorted to not even having music on my Galaxy because it's such an rear canoe ache of a job transferring it from my laptop to my phone (opposed to the iPhone doing it over wifi automatically).
