The dirty black Eunos with the stickers will live again!!! This weekend the engine is going back in. As you know the big ends were shot - i think the over heat i had when i dumped all the coolant did the initial damage and then it worsened over time (autosolos, sprints and trackdays would have tested it out!) Its remarkable and testament to these engines that it kept going as long as it did. So the splendid chaps at Autolink did a fine job on bearings and a good low mileage crank out of a 2.5 plus all the other bits. I got the crank back in over the past week (I noticed how nicely it all seemed to go together this time!) and the block will be going in tomorrow so hopefully a test drive this weekend. I need to get some miles in ready for the Autosolo a week sunday - though I might avoid bangin' right up to the limiter on every run next weekend!! Will update with (i hope) some good news!

Update - aaaargh all back together started up easy but bit of a rattle from the front of the engine - turns out my newish water pump (just over a year old - typical my fault - cheap ebay one!!) , which was working fine before (or perhaps not!??) sounds like its going to die so its off with the front covers again and another order to Autolink

I'm a total twat! Noise was a combination of the pulley rubbing on the plastic cover and the tensioner pulley not tight!! Still good news
