On the way to Llandow on saturday I stopped for fuel and there appeared to be a puddle of dirty oil under my car - we concluded that it was from a previous customer. At the circuit it did seem that after stopping in the paddock a few drips of oil did appear, this didnt seem to get any worse but on Monday night after work I put the car up on the ramps and dropped the box out. As i had only just done Johns clutch i am quite a dab hand and only took me 2 hours start to finish (even with lying on my back under the car). Also you dont need to remove the PPF to drop the box just remove the front diff bolt and gearbox bolts and you can lever it out the way, cool! Clutch housing was pretty messy and removing the imput shaft seal cover confirmed the seal had failed (it fell straight out of its housing) £10 for parts so not a problem just a lot of time involved! The drive train of my car has been dismantled 3 times this year now, moral of the story - if you remove engine/gearbox always replace all seals you can get at whether leaking or not!!!

Handy tip for the PPF, I'll be sure to do that as well.
Did you just go MX5parts for the seals?

No - Autolink & theres a discount code --------------------------------------- Just checked the clutch plate and I need to replace that also as oil has gone down the shaft and between plate and pressure plate - another £50 bah!!!
