Doing another of the Classic Marques rounds this weekend at Curborough. Managed to get in a sneaky practice session on saturday afternoon. The major problem is it's the flipping figure 8 track, so had better remember which way to turn......
Oh & the Ferraris are there too, 17 of them. It'll be interesting to compare times. According to the entry list there's a 250 SWB!! I wonder if he'll let me have a go?

Its a cool course. I like it as you can really attack it. My PB was set in practice as was plagued by my MAP Sensor shorting on my timed runs. 65.71 was my best. I think there was a definite 64 second run in the car.

I do like the figure of 8, and prefer it to the normal 2 lap course. Did it last Saturday with BARC.

If he's seen your YouTube it'll be a no Figure 8 was quite good as a layout, not too difficult to remember but probably needs a few runs to master, I think I ran a 68.6 but there's more there, maybe not a lot but I was a little cautious having had an incident there at my ladt visit.

69 seconds in practice. Not bad on rainsports. Went to put the Yokohama s on but 1 of the wheels isn't for a MX5 & has the wrong size spigot !!! Fuming!!!

rear canoe, what size spigot do you need? I might have a set I got a few sets with my alloys when I bought my OZ wheels, I specified Mazda fitment and was given a few, I can post out if its right, not an immediate help I know but still.
To my knowledge Spigots aren't necessary, just aid wheel centering but don't take load etc, so you can just bolt up in a cross pattern and it will be fine.

Hi Sandy, I'm going to wazz the wheel back to the supplier.
I think that I made a mistake in the description of the fault- the machining on the big central hole in the wheel is too small to fit over the inner ridge on the brake disc/hub nut. They can sort it out- thanks for the offer though.
Anyway, back to Curbs- I came 2nd by 0.02 seconds with a HC time of 61.37 (scratch 68.05). The scratch time was quicker than most of the Ferraris (inc £5,000,000 F250 SWB). So 24.98 points in the bag which I was pleased with. My brother was getting on well in the car, frustratingly he beat my 64ft every time, but he had a 360 spin on T1 so put a banker in for T2.
Blyton 2/3 Sept is the next event.

Good time Howard Ah, if the Centre bore is too small that is an issue, a lot of aftermarket wheels like OZ have massive central bore, something like 73mm and you use the spigot ring to centralize the wheel on the hub which normally has a much smaller bore size (67.1 in my NC, I think 54.1 for NA/NB) so thought that was what you were on about.
