Just a few photos (39 out of 667!) of the cars running up the hill at Retro Rides Gathering 2017.
I didn't take any of the static stuff, as I didn't want to keep changing lenses in the middle of a field.

I'm not that good at panning. Part of the issue was how close to the cars you were. I found I was having to pan too fast, and kept getting crap images, so used a faster shutter. Also I had the camera set on high speed burst, so I didn't have to worry about getting every one perfect. In the past, I have found about 1/250 or 1/320 (usually at about f/4) gives a nice balance between blurred background and sharp subject.

I'm glad it's not just me that struggled with panning hahah (sold my camera a while back as I knew I didn't do it justice lol)

I know what you mean with the panning, being so close to the track made it difficult, especially as i only took the 70-300 up the hill with me! You managed way more clean shots than me haha!
