Do good. Have fun. Drive MX5s Hello, If you're reading this then you are wondering why this site is here and what we're about. It's pretty simple really. There was another site, lets call it MX5almonds, that we all loved and enjoyed. Sometime ago that forum changed hands and is now run by a faceless corporation who's only real aim is to sell their members eyes to their advertisers and maximise profits from traders while putting as little effort into the forum as possible. This made some of us sad. Mighty5s is here FOR the community and FOR the traders who make our scene what it is. We're not here to make money, we're here to do good and spread MX5 based peace and love. Therefore this site will remain advert free and Traders will not be charged to tout their business on here as long as they are giving back to the community with advice and help on occasions. If they just come on and abuse us for our hospitality I'll whip out my impressive ban stick. No one wants to see that! Now I say we a lot in the above but in reality it's me. My kingdom, my rules. Backed up my crack team of Mighty Mods. Luckily I'm a benign dictator and frankly I want people to feel a part of the site and not just a user. How we go about doing that on an ongoing basis I currently have no idea. So far though we've got mods who love MX5s and were here in the earliest of days, our logo was designed by Jimbo one of founding members and there's a suggestions area where we have already been listening to feedback. How is this all funded I hear you cry? The shop. All the items in the shop after costs like manufacture and delivery produce a small margin (for example profit on a hoodie is about £2). This is all put in an account and will be used to pay for keeping the site running and advert free. Any surplus will be used to pay for useful items like a banner for shows etc. If by some staggering chance there's a reasonable sum and nothing to spend it on then at the end of each year there will be vote for which charity it will go to. So there we go. That's us. Please enjoy the forums and be part of what will be the best MX5 community in the UK. Nick (Aka Horney)

That would be amusing but I'd feel bad if Daz found out. He put a lot of effort into Nutz and I don't think the new owners have delivered on the promises they made him when he sold it.

I agree. It's such a shame it went downhill the way it did

Can we ask daz if we can call it almonds? I think he would see the funny side, as im sure he knows we all appreciate the work he put in when Nutz was the place we loved to visit and made so many good mates.

Hate to say it but it was very clear what was going to happen to Nutz. They have a proven track record of doing it to every forum they buy, including Club Roadster which was talked about a lot on Nutz so unfortunately I'd say everyone involved knew what was going to happen.
It's a real shame, but it's enabled this forum to start so it's not all bad!!

Nick and mods hats off for putting time and effort hope this forum grows and people move across.
As said Nutz was the place to go before the take over after which for me it just seems to have gone downhill. I hope other traders like Rodders come across.
Best of luck to all.

Best of luck to all. rodders is here and repping us on his mk4 currently. he did also offer a deal on pads to forum members so he has embraced us fully which is lovely to see
