Have entered the TWMC Goodwood Sprint on the 23rd Sept; there seem to be a few MX5s entered- anyone else from here?
My first time ever on this quick circuit so should be interesting as I need some decent points for the Classic Marques Championships. Have done 7 events this season with an average score of 24.67 out of 25 & the best 8 scores count, as I'm doing this and Combe in October I've got the lowest score from 1 round to drop.
Have been doing some youtube homework but if anyone had any hints on this circuit they would be much appreciated.

Don’t apex turn one, run wide and carry the speed to apex turn two.

Can't help you, I struggled with it, I'd suggest a trackday/test there to build up, but its a bit late, I kept taking off speed thinking I needed to, then getting really angry with myself when I realized it was much faster than I thought it was. David Newman has a youtube vid from his run, it was 100s, you can see it in the Sprint thread on Nutz. Confidence to carry speed through the bends is clearly the key, some circuit helps, you might get that from a walk but unlike a hill you are going so much faster it is hard to say what the value of walking it was beyond good exercise Takes a while to walk it get there early.

That was a tough day out but absolutely fantastic fun.
Left home at 05:15 to get to Goodwood, the M3 was shut from the A34 junction south so had to use plan B & go across country & missed a turn in Petersfield, GRRRRR.
Got signed on , noised (83db from the exhaust- the don't count the supercharger scream) scrutineered etc etc. Practice was interesting as it was a 2 lapper- I cought the car in front before the end of the 1st lap as it decided to blow it's engine (sunbeam tiger). Managed a 2nd flying lap which put me p2 after practice. One of the S2000s in my class had to be removed from the barriers, just a glancing blow it seems. T1- I was on it & managed a 101.4: Put me in a very close p3. Still more time in the car I think. T2 was going ok till St Marys where a late save was needed... T3 was cancelled because one of the S2000s had brake failure on the fastest part of the circuit & had a massive off. The car's not fixable... Must get a HANS device.... So, the 2 TVRs ahead of me were also in the TVRCC championships so I ended up with first prize for Classic Marques!!
I'm gonna do a trackday before next year's competition!!!

Tricky track, I'll be looking to do a trackday there before I visit for a sprint, just needs some familiarity with it to be comfortable due to its speed.
Wasn't Phil Ludbrook in the S2k was it?

Oh that's not good, I hope he wasn't hurt. I saw this car at Goodwood on Saturday when it was in the paddock at lunchtime and I was admiring his Rotrex setup, shame to see it involved in such a heavy off.

Bloody hell. Seems it just went when he lifted slightly. Mechanical Suspension failure?

That's scary! At first I thought he clipped the grass, but it just lets go in a straight line. So unlucky!

Wow, scary, having had a similar spin on that section but 30mph slower I know how hairy that feels, I was lucky to not have an impact. Looks like he is OK though which is great.
Bloody quick track that, when it goes wrong it has a good chance of being messy, barriers aren't far away for the speed. There was quite some side movement despite harnesses, makes me wonder how bad it might for me in my motor with stock seat and belt....
I've seen him a few times at events but he's not in my class so not really spoken to him apart from the odd nosey, whilst looking what my competition might be if I go forced, it was pretty quick.
