Don't forget the Cursed Water Plug if it's a 1.6! Is that the one at the back of the head? I had that canoe go on me a couple of months ago. Thought I'd cooked the engine. That's the one - little bung thing, about a fiver to replace... Wasn't aware it was there as the issue is not very common on the forums, bar Yank forums! For the price, all 1.6 owners should get it done as preventative maintenance!

I went belt & braces by using a short piece of silicon hose with a stainless bolt siliconed and pipe clipped. Not the prettiest but hell you can see the little motherf*cker.
