I've had a intermittent starting fault for a few days and but it was difficult to get the car to repeat the problem, and having an immobiliser I wasn't sure if this was part of the issue. Last night I was out in the car when the problem occurred and this time it wouldn't turn over so switched on the ignition, used the fob to switch off the immobiliser and bumped it, fired up straight away which leads me to believe the problem must lay with the starter circuit.
I have a pin out for the ignition switch so I can test this, question is can I jump live/start at the ignition switch connector block?

B1 and 2 are permanently live, no you cant jump the starter from the ignition switch end (well I couldn't) and initially the car fired up every time until I took it for a drive around the block a couple of times. Now its sitting on my drive not wanting to go, guess I'm going to have to get under it and check the wiring on the starter (in the Canoeing rain)

Update (this may be of use for someone else) Issue was the live to the solenoid or rather a dirty terminal affecting the voltage when hot. Started everytime when cold yet once warm turning the ignition key did nothing. Cleaned the terminal and problem solved
