Last sprint of the season in the Classic Marques Championship at the Pegasus Sprint Castle Combe on the 21st Oct.
Overall, I'm 4th out of 60 entered in the Championship which I'm pleased with considering it's my first season in the car & gradually getting the hang of it. Did ok last year in the ITB'd MK1 with a 89.something lap, have to improve by 1% to match this time on handicap.
Anyone else having a go?

Yeah I have entered not in any championship this year but considering hsa or similar next season in my mk3 - is this sprint just 3/4 lapper ?

Come do Classic Marques next year, there's already another MK3, plus Mk1s & 2s. If it's the same format as previously, it's a full lap to the finish line from a pitlane start.

We’ll have to have a thread of who’s doing what events next year. Would be good to do a few with others from the forum. I’ll be mixing it up using both the Mini and the Mx5 depending on the event.

Right, that's the camera & spare battery pack fully charged for tomorrow, but the wifi seems to be U/S which is frustrating as I'd got Harry's Laptimer on my phone to overlay the data. Trying a software update.
Really glad we're on rainsports looking at the forecast!

Might pop down for a bit if I have time as I'm up that way looking at a car for the missus. Good luck, not that you need it, you have a fair handle on Combe I bought a dedicated box of tricks for data etc, seems more reliable and nicer for analyzing.
You can still match it all up later even if the wifi is not working.

Hmm, tough day at Castle Combe, 2 of my friends crunched their cars today. The weather was really windy & occasionally drizzy, the car felt quick up to Avon Rise with a strong tail wind but I was having problems slowing the car down, the brake pedal was very soft. Also there was a strong knocking sound coming from the supercharger at idle...
So, P1 I was in the mix with a time of 89.84 then in P2 the 2 TVRs woke up & kicked my butt, after handicap I was 1.5 sec behind.
T1 things got a bit wayward. My friend Mark crashed his Griff under high speed braking into tower, the car sustained some serious damage & we think he has a detached retina but otherwise OK. The other TVR didn't match his P2 time by 0.5sec..... No pressure then! I managed a decent start but carried a little too much speed over Avon Rise & just scraped round the next corner. The rest of the run was pretty reasonable, a little twitchy on the exit of bobbies & missed the apex at Camp but was carrying speed (lack of brakes!!) so managed to get away with sacrificing a little time for speed. But the time was good- 87.56 enough for me to take the class win by about a second.

There was some strong gusts on the M4 on the way up there, didn't managed to get to Combe, less than 2 miles away but the missus wasn't up for it, I had a fun day of shopping centres...yay Well done on the win.

Here's the vid. There's a bit of swearing after the finish line.
