Anyone know what the rules / guidelines are on taking kids / young people to a track day, and out on track? Wondering if there is any age limit ... I remember being told my son couldn't go in the pit lane at a race until he was 16, but that was a race ...
I'd like to take my son out on track as a passenger at some point, just not sure if / when it would be allowed, or sensible. He's 12 at the moment and I wouldn't take him yet partly because he's slightly too short for me to feel comfortable with the seat / harness holding and supporting him properly. I'm also not sure about how a younger / still developing body will fare in a crash etc ... I'm just thinking ahead so interested in thoughts / opinions

I seem to recall it’s 16 or over. Probably worth checking with a few TDOs to see what they say. If he’s tall and fits well in the seats I can’t see why it would be a problem.

I think it depends on TDO. Lowest age I have found on a proper track day is 15 with OpenTrack but I think most are 16.

Kids are probably more resilient than us old people!
Don't forget there are kids doing 70mph karting weekend after weekend (e.g. Lewis Hamilton) and they must have the odd shunt!

Donington Thunder in the Park (Dec) and Circuit Days are both 16 - my son has just turned 16 but couldn't go with me to Silverstone on 6 Nov as it was a Monday & a school day !

14 at MSV tracks. At Blyton with us, the need to be able to fit the seat properly.
Regardless of age, always remember that the driver is responsible for the passenger, whatever age.
