I was so Canoeed off with the last one due to it being a Canoeing carbon-copy of A New Hope that I will not be watching The Last Jedi. I mean, there's 40-odd years of Star Wars history they could have mined and they felt the need to re-make the first one. Canoe off!

Omg star wars in a couple of hours. I'm currently sat in my star wars socks, star wars boxers and star wars Christmas jumper while drinking tea out of a Darth Vader mug. Who's a Canoeing nerd?

I quite enjoyed it. it was way better than the force awakens! It didn't leave me wanting more though I thought it teed up the third of the set quite nicely... I need to go watch it again though. My biggest disappointment was that nobody said “I’ve got a bad feeling about this”, unless Chewie or a Porg said it. Might as well not call it Star Wars 😐 Otherwise I very much enjoyed it 😃

Wasn't that impressed. Space battle at the start was pretty awesome, apart from Poe trying to be funny with Hux. Rest of the film just felt like it didn't know what direction to be going in, so many bits that just felt like they were put in the film to sell toys or something.

Finally saw it. I thought it was quite fun, though with reservations and not just about the plot, even though that seems to be a celebration of failure. I think BB8 has issues. He's cuter than R2D2 but, while R2D2 saves the day by doing something smart like overriding a computer system, BB8 commandeers heavy weapons and murders everyone. Little bit worried about that guy. There's also the thing about space being 2D. I mean we've had 40 years to get used to there somehow being normal gravity on the spaceships, and opposing fleets of ships in deep space all agree on which way is "up", but now we have spaceships in orbit which somehow drop bombs on each other. That's weird. But the thing that really nags at me is ... the ramming scene. I mean, visually stunning, and Admiral Mrs wossname off of Jurassic Park played a blinder, but really? They can do that? The baddie fleet has been pounding that cruiser with its best available weapons and not even scratching it because of its shields. But it turns out you can jump a ship to lightspeed straight through an enemy's ship's shields. Why has nobody weaponised this? You could use a small robotic kamikaze ship, or a purpose-built missile which jumps to lightspeed through its target. It makes a total nonsense of the pursuing baddie fleet's tactics. They risked their capital ship with their supreme commander on board in the front line of a space battle with a desperate opponent who has nothing to lose and can use an attack against which there is no defence. It kinda makes a nonsense of most of the previous movies. Do you realise how many Gungans died <wistful look> to steal the blueprints of the original Death Star, so they could analyse it for any tiny weaknesses? Well now we have a bigger, better, dumber idea for how to attack it so <shrug> maybe they needn't have bothered.

Went with the family They all enjoyed it - it was an hour too long for me Plot was a bit thin - it seemed to me to be a long drawn out effort to say bye to Leia and Luke!
