Hi Skuzzle, Been having issues with my HSD's here I Herts. I know you have some decent backroads down by you and I was wondering what you would recommend as a solution to them being really crashy on less than smooth roads. I think it must be something to do with spring weights and my rays as friends with heavier wheels don't really have this issue but especially the rears seem to kick down hard at the road and cause some bouncing and loss of traction. Is there springs I could replace them with? Thanks in advance Trackiebear

Hmm an interesting question. Sounds like spring rates if it's how you are explaining. A heavier wheel might dampen it a little. Do you have any preload set on the springs? Too little can make the ride pretty crashy on full extension and too much can lead to bouncing. I think what you've unlocked here though is a can of worms on the hsd meister debate. I've always found the hsd seems to be a better track / drift suspension out of the box than the old meister zeta 's (their road spec) which is a bit weak for track but beautifully compliant on the road. The only real difference between the 2 is the spring rate as both have very similar levels of adjustments in the same places. This would lend me to suggest you have a look at the preload but if it's set fairly neutral (ie so the spring is just gently squashed a few mm with the wheels off the ground) then I'd say the spring rates are wrong for the weight of the car and the roads you drive on.

The springs are just nipped up, wishbones pretty much parallel to the floor and dampers at full soft. I have found this too on a really smooth Road the hsds feel much more positive than the meisters but on bumpy roads they are way worse

Take them off full soft and see if that helps. Full soft is usually terrible.
