I've already chimed in on a couple of threads here, but I thought I would actually introduce myself on this forum.
My name is Raymond, I'm 57, married and have 3 sons (one who also owns a MX-5) As you can see from the subject, I am actually from the US, living in the state of Arkansas. My home is on the edge of both the Ouachita and Ozark Mountains, so there is excellent driving here.
I own an '01 LS, emerald green w/tan interior - 225k mile and counting. Modifications I have made to my car include: a stainless roll bar, the eclipse dash vent mod, wood steering wheel, shift knob and parking brake handle (and trying to acquire the radio bezel to go with those) koni shocks and 16" alloy rims. Although the engine is in fine shape, doesn't smoke or use oil, I have noticed a certain 'winded-ness' under certain circumstances and am considering the Jaguar V6 engine swap (insert poor Tim Allen grunting imitation)
As a Southerner, I really don't say 'Howdy', but I do say 'Y'all', 'Yes Ma'am' and 'No Sir' I have deep British roots in my family, and have actually visited your fair country, and would love to do so again.
So, as we say around here ' Y'all pull up a chair and sit a spell'

Hello Raymond, welcome to the forum. Does forced induction appeal? These little things go nicely with a turbo or SC.

Hello Raymond, welcome to the forum. Does forced induction appeal? These little things go nicely with a turbo or SC. Thank you sir. I have considered forced induction, but doing a rebuild on top of conversion would be much more expensive than the engine swap

Welcome! A mere stone's throw from sunny Minnesota All things being relative, you are correct sir - though it's just too cold in the winter there for my taste. I spent a couple of years in Wisconsin, so I remember the winters well
