So close, yet so far. The car is really a Jaguar XJR-14 which was designed by Ross Brawn and built by Tom Walkinshaw. After the rotary was banned, and Jaguar quit at the end of '91, Mazda had no car and no engine to defend their Le Mans crown. This led the factory race team, Mazdaspeed, to repaint the Jag and stick an F1 engine in the back. It didn't win in 92 but it did finish 4th And that was the easy one to start off with? I'm Canoeed then...
