Meccano was always the stuff your geek dad bought because he thought it was more clever than lego, when all you really wanted was lego because everyone else had lego.
In reality, its only cleverer in a geeks mind because you have to assemble it with tools, making it more fiddly and much less accessible to kids. Lego is superior in every way.
The chiron is a very impressive build! The best thing about it is that its powered by lego motors. These things appear occasionally but it's always a lego shell with something else underneath.
