I've had the Dunlops on for almost a year now, I commute 2 hours a day and have plenty of tread left. I had a look the other day and I would say there's about 5-6mm still to go before I need to consider replacing them.

Missus uses Rainexperts. They are great for the price. About 40 quid a corner I think they were. I use toyo cf2. About same price and again great even in the damp, but they wear quite quickly I've had mine on two cars less than a year and they are starting to show it. Not done a huge mileage either.

thanks for all the responses! starting to lean more towards more continentals now as they have a deal where you get 2 free football shirts with 2 tyres could do with some new clothes

rainsports.
i didn't believe the hype until i bought some and they just stick to the road in the wet. mallory in the pissing rain, just driving around the outside of people with much faster cars/more experience than me. crazy. Compared to the parada2 I took off it they are much better in the dry too.
but no free clothes with them. I guess i could fashion some underpants from the yokos...

the free stuff won me over in the end, but went for the better-rated premium contact continentals rather than the eco contact I had before
fingers crossed they don't wear out too quickly - the previous pair lasted almost exactly 2 years and loads of miles. probably over 15k
