As per title
Need 2 new 185/60/14 tyres for my daily wheels. The previous ones were continental ecocontact 5's and i really liked them, however i know sod all about tyres
I saw our tame tyre supplier NickD Has vredesteins in my price range which look good so leaning towards those, but open to suggestions

How quiet are they? Have heard that dunlops can have much less road noise

Very, have a look at the decibel rating. If I remember correctly 3db equals to double/half. So if something is 3db louder it should be twice as loud. This is something that impressed me when I first got them compared to what was on there.
Edit: Just refreshed myself and I think I got it wrong! I think 10db is double the loudness so 3db difference would be ~33% quieter/louder.

FYI I run 195/50/15 in these, I can't see why they would be any different in your size but maybe just google for reviews in your size just to double check

I've got the bluresponse in 195/50/15 too, great on the road and would recommend.

3dB means double the energy required to make the sound, not double the volume you hear.

Thanks for the clarification, I knew there was something about +/-3db = double!

You won't go wrong with the Vred's, never had a bad word against them.

I also had vreds. Found they took a bit of wearing inbut then they were great. I wouldn't say mine were the quietest tyre though. Very good wear rate.
When I come to replace mine though I think I'll look at the dunlops. I've not decided yet.

From what I read the Dunlops wear quite quickly so might not be ideal as a daily tyre, although at the price it's not the end of the world...
