I am loving the LED 'Trucklite' copies I installed: mighty5s.com/thread/317/headlights-review-fitment-guide-trucklitesThey were not that cheap but there is a plethora of options from various Chinese sellers on Amazon / ebay / Alibaba / etc., and the ones I bought have (after replacing one under warranty shortly after purchase) lasted since installation, so over two and a half years to date. They are crazy-bright compared to a 'standard' H4+reflector setup, but I've never been flashed by oncoming traffic because the dipped beam cut-off line is relatively sharp, even if it is 'undefined' when compared to the laser-sharp horizontal cut-off line you get with OEM kit on new cars. The dipped beam is also super-wide, so ideal for country road driving at night because you can actually see the apex of the corner that you're turning into as you're next to it, rather than only seeing the hedge/field/tree in front of you and having to steer into a dark patch. The main beam is epically bright - I've flashed morons sitting in lane two on the motorway to 'invite' them back into the driving lane after they've overtaken me and at night some of them have braked because they seemingly think it is a speed camera flash lol. My MOT chap said that they should be an MOT fail next time round because they don't have that sharp cut-off line, so I definitely won't swap them for the test and put them back in again afterwards... EDIT: My pictures have disappeared but there are others in the thread!

I've opted for the ones with a fancy new reflector thing because they come with lamps and I'm cheap and no angel eyes because also cheap (and it's a splice connection that is unnecessary and a potential cause of problems). Anything will be better than the candles in cake tins I have now! Will try and get comparison photo up

Anything has to be better than the OEM glowworms in marmalade jars lol

Tits on a stick!
So, the bottom baby set screw that needs loosening so that the carrier can slide off is rusted to hell and obvs I've destroyed wthat remained of the screwhead because I don't own JIS drivers and outright refuse to buy any more tools...
What is the least intrusive way of shifting it? I'm resigned to getting mole grips and a new screw (any idea what size? M3.5 maybe??) but there is no space to get the tools in without loosening/removing the entire flippy up mechanism as I can see. Also, seriously, does anyone know the size because I'm not fluent in JIS and it's a headlight on a daily driver in winter!

images.mighty5s.com/upload/2tadtfx48t.jpg/2tadtfx48t.jpg" alt=" "] Ye of little faith! I've got a screw in for now, I think it's a little corear canoe threaded but it's tight and means I have lights. Admittedly ones that don't match the sidelights, but lights nonetheless! I'll find some cool white sidelights and probably go LED for these. The way to do this is to remove the top cover of the pop up housing, loosen the bolts into the tilt mechanism and then tie (you can see the blue cable ties) to hold solid. Also, I wish I knew where my needlenosed visegrips were.
