Having bought a set of MOSS TSI I've now realised the issue with no sidelights, ( please excuse but new to MX5s and bought without studying !). I know I could swap back at MOT but not really a satisfactory solution. I'm no wizz with electronics but looking at the indicator bulbs I believe they're a 1157 size. Trawling the web I found these. www.classiccarleds.co.uk/products/bay15d-1157-white-and-amber-tail-sidelight-and-indicator-combined-led-380Would it be possible to fit the TSI with the indicator holder as intended but use these bulbs, ( with the oem sidelight bulbs removed from the oem holders and just tied out of the way )? I can see they are intended to be side lights that then flash Amber rather than Amber indicator lights that flash white so not sure if you could just use the wiring that's supposed to run to the side light holder and run it onto the indicator holder instead? Would this result In them running as clear sidelights until indicating at which point they would flash Amber, ( and all utilising the indicator holder within the TSI as intended )? Not sure if all the oem relays etc are suitable with LEDs but wondered if someone on here knows if this could work? thanks in advance and apologies if it's clearly not possible..

You could run with the UK-spec dim-dipped headlights relay, I think??
That would mean always having the lights up when they were on, rather than just running with the lights down and the sidelights on, but you would at least have sidelights and it might just be a plug-and-play relay swap rather than faffing with PITA wiring? lol
(I don't know for sure, I am kind of guessing!)

Hi. Any reason I'd need the lights up? If this is just headlights then I dont see why I need to go there with sidelights/indicators?

The UK-spec vehicles originally came with 'dim-dip' headlights - so when the sidelights came on, the headlights would go up and the bulbs in them would light up, but only at a very low level rather than full dipped-beam power.
What I was suggesting was that if you didn't want to faff with wiring up clever joint sidelight/indicator bulbs to get some sidelights, the UK-spec lighting setup may just be a simple swap of the relay units, which would be much easier, and would give you sidelights!
Although if you have the lights up, you could just go straight to dipped beam, I guess... I know one person who has this setup and has gone through the MOT with it, but I'm not sure if he has a 'friendly' MOT tester.
