Okey, I’ve waited for more posts but now I need to ask..... wazzitthen? Rich. Only half done, but it's a Lexus V8. Currently at about 300bhp & 350 ft/lbs but it's an early thick rod 1UZ and the internals are good for 500+ bhp, soooooo.... Still looking ... may well end up going for a Cadillac CTS-V diff but that's load more money! Russell Am interested to see how you resolve this - a certain person I know (not me lol) should soon have 300+ bhp and a shedload of torque going through a standard mk2.5(?) 3.6 diff, and he doesn't drive slowly, so an alternative solution may ultimately be needed... lol

Russell wondered what car & what diff you were refering to from what i've read, the Caddy (Getrag) diff is easy to fit, shafts may need some consideration as will propshaft whats the availability over here for them? I've looked at Sierra & Freelander diffs, both common kitcar (& Caterham standard fit) use with ratios / lsd's available suitable for torquey engines - although I'm looking more at lower ratios so were discounted for my car.... anything fits if you can weld Rich.

Are there actually any Sierra diffs left? I think I've only seen about 3 on the road in the last year... lol

Ooh, I forgot to ask for V6 - What are the top-tier LSD internals, aside from Cusco? Which are best built / strongest / built-to-last? Are they easy to get spare parts for and easy to get serviced?? I think we might have touched on the discussion earlier in the thread, but confirmation would be great!

I think we might have touched on the discussion earlier in the thread, but confirmation would be great! dunno. dunno. 3J's are UK based so lsd clutch-plates (wear items) and other spares are easily available, anything Japaneese made will take a bit of ordering (IF still available?). as to servicing, any good transmition speciallist (OR good mecanic etc.) should be able to build / assemble / mesh & service a diferential assembly - it's not rocket-science so competent diy maybe? (easy for me to say, started my apprentaceship 30 years ago as a fitter&turner, been building stuff since AND still learning......) Rich.

OS Giken are the best, no question. Spares are readily available, although just not needed.
After that ... Cusco, then Kaaz are a bit cheaper again.
There are a few chinese options like the OBX thing and another Ashcroft copy, but if they are built to the same quality as their other products I'd give it a miss.
For me, I'd rather stick with MX5 / RX7 internals as anything else will require stupid amounts of money, work or both to change the diff housing, make custom half shafts and a custom propshaft.

Russell OS Giken @ $1849 www.flyinmiata.com/na-nb-os-giken-limited-slip-differential.htmlor SuperMiata special version for $1450: supermiata.com/os-giken-limited-slip-MX5.aspxThat is quite expensive... lol I need to read up on 1-way, 1.5-way and 2-way options! Diffs are firmly in the box marked 'magic' in my head, like electricity

I wouldn't import one from the US, they are available here. They are about £1100, not much more expensive than Cusco.
