Yes in theory. However the lift would be so large I'd then need to cut an even larger hole to see through the bonnet At a later stage I may investigate a hood scoop. Mere details

Haha, pretty cool. Now that reminds me of Street Machine mags in the early 80s

At least it's just a straight exhaust left to go on. Then the butterfly brace can be fitted. The backbox will be fairly minimal, so I doubt it will be silent

Update from the guys...
"Biggest progress we have made is we have had the gearbox back off and modified it to allow better flywheel clearance. The exhaust is very nearly complete with just the rear silencer to attach. I have purposely not booked stuff in for the 1st and 2nd week in August so we can really push for completion by end of 2nd week"...
Woooo!
The reality of these things is to be prepared for many unexpected delays. Even simple things like changing a spacer means waiting on engineering companies, then clashes with other projects booked in, then more waiting. Even waiting a month for silicone parts to arrive. Every detail takes sooooo long. Painful at times. Although I appreciate the quality of the workmanship going into this. I have learned some patience along the way.
On the "To Do List" for mid August deadline: Finish exhaust and heat shielding for steering rack and fuel lines. Coolant lines Fit radiator Fit air filter and cut bonnet clearance / fit bonnet pins Fuel lines Braided clutch line Positive starter and alternator wiring / finish engine wiring harness Wiring in gauges Fit butterfly brace Throttle cable Calibrate ECU
Sounds like a busy couple of weeks coming up. And then, hope... Group shot in the workshop & final shout out thanks to Sam & Matt. Followed by a fun drive back and a local country lane hoon (myself and Wannabe)
Right, back to my workshop for wood projects, distractions, life... while trying not to think about this. Hopefully next time, some photos...

Nice Good to hear they are making time to finish a longer-term project rather than leaving it in the corner until you chase them! What's the betting the 30+ degree heat disappears and it starts slashing it down just as it's complete, making every journey 'interesting'... lol

I personally find this heat annoying. I vastly prefer spring and autumn. So hopefully we can have some fun in a V6 powered leaf blower before the cold and damp weather arrives. Next year will be better for making the most out of it. We will have to plan some tours, track days, visits and pub meets etc.

I like being able to drive round at night with the roof down while wearing a T-shirt, but other than that, I agree - I love getting home and being able to wring out all the clothes I've been wearing... lol Do you reckon yours will be finished before mine?

It's only a 2.5" system. No fake massive 4" cannon tips or anything. Mind you, the old V6 capris sounded quite nice with even smaller pipes
