An long awaited update. This has taken soo much longer than anticipated. In fact two years. So I had to have a custom flywheel due to the j37 crank being longer. Basset down has had it on the dyno and it made 300 hp and 259 ftlb. Obviously no where near where I expected. After doing some steps back we found the vtec was not being activated due to dowels being missing in the heads. It has now got the dowels in and all should be good to go. Back on the dyno Wednesday this week. I am going to do a full new exhaust system including headers as it’s a single two and a half inch exhaust which I know will be a restrictive point. Once this is done I would expect an extra 25 bhp. Nice Budget for all this must be... generous... lol Will be great to have that much N/A power with a decent rev limit and low weight!

This project has taken too long. Any way got car back. Ended with 330 bhp and 275ftlb. It’s seriously quick. Feels much faster than my previous 350 bhp turbo.

That is ace Although having experienced V6's V6 on the road, it was so ridiculously quick (with less power!) that twisty country roads are pretty much coasting along tickling the throttle between corners, as proper acceleration leaves you arriving at the next corner about 30mph faster than a normal 5... lol They need space to play! Or I need more skillz...

Dyno numbers are not something to be trusted. I feel that this car has gained more than the 30 bhp.

What you feel is the area under the curve, top end might be 30 hp, but if you average say 15 hp through it all it makes for a lot faster car. My turbo is built for that, top end was not the aim and with the current curve, it leaves peaky turbo fives for dead. It has 260 nm at the wheels @ 3k rpm, 360@ 4k and peaks with 408 @ 5k. Keeps it over 350 to redline. Your v6 should be even flatter. You can feel that Throw up the paper for us to admire.

Was going to sell but then decided it was not a good decision. Instead I threw more money at it. Been back on the dyno. Made 320ftlb of torque but same bhp. There is more left on the table but requires bigger longer headers which is going to be hard on a mx5.
