That interior is gorgeous! Love the shorty console, what is it?

That's shaping up nicely, I especially like the intake. Are the red bits on the subframe engine mounts? If so, that's a good change from the old type

Shorty is from Japan by Nakamae. Takes months to arrive. I stripped the whole interior then painted it black. Then put acoustic foam on the tunnel and just under the seats. Then the Nakamae smooth carpet option on the tunnel. The floors only have mats so no water gets trapped under fluff.
Yes the red bits are engine mounts. There is more to that subframe but it wasn't connected at the time of the photo.
I've had loads of the parts for a year now. Bu kept it all quiet until now.

Flywheel was being lightened last week. One of the criticisms of the kit was a heavy feeling rotating mass there. So hopefully mine will spin up more freely. Hopefully our upgraded flywheel spacer will be back as well.
I think the parts which could have been upgraded will all have been identified and done. Makes sense while it's all in bits.
I won't say never, but hopefully it will be right first time. The "only" parts I could improve would be the transmission. Gearbox, shafts, hubs at high cost. All import only too. So will wait. Only to be done if I decide I want crazy power down the line. Although I can't see why anyone would need more than 300.

I like the sound of your interior, definite food for thought. May borrow some of your ideas

The doors alone were a mission. Stripped, zinced, made thin birch varnished plywood panels, coated in premo leather, speakers and radio junk gone, replaced by 0.5kg JBL Bluetooth speaker (for satnav and background tunes)
Loads of there missions happened. But it's too many pics to ask Wannabe to upload. Details like custom zoom indicators with stainless steel c clamps (not adhesive pads) and proper old school mazda bulbs (not bin when they die LED).
Etc. Been a bit busy on details like that while I was saving up. Did things like Garagestar wing braces, bumper cut, flipping numberplate, tons of stuff. 100+ photos

It looks cleaner in small online photos. The reality is, I'm not really a car polisher. It would benefit from a full restoration in years down the line. For now I've been focused on the mechanics. The Enkei are only clean and dust free in the snap above as they had only just come back from Lepsons powder coaters. Now they can revert to being matt and dusty.
Interior mods were mainly to save mass. But I got carried away on details.
Outside I did some basics like adding more cooling to the bonnet. I will add my ducktail soon, which I've had and modified since over a year ago. Then that will do for the outside for the time being.

Sounds like you've thought things through really well, and looks like the Minitec kit has kept on improving which is good. Definitely a car to keep an eye on!!

In the future, once its all been tested and I save for ages... I'd love to have: Full front cage, half dash cut, remove heater system, add scratch resistant plastic window kit to the side and rear, bare metal respray in a different colour, powder coated all items like suspension. Then rebuild with new rubbers, nuts, bolts.
Way, way down the line. But an end goal.

Or... Forget all the cosmetic above. Go for V8 transmission parts, centrifugal supercharger and a lot more shove.
All depends how I feel after I get used to it I guess.

NA tuning potential is more than enough, with drop in Honda parts and good breathing mods

Well, could you get 300-350whp n/a without having to resort to cams that make the car idle at 2500rpm i guess that would be a sweet spot. (I'd personally just throw a rotrex on it).

I was toying with the idea of a mild tune up via cams later on. As you suggest that rough target would be good. Alternatively I could effectively increase the cc with different drop in Honda parts. So go to 3.5, 3.6, 3.7 etc.
Going for a supercharger would be a LOT more power, so everything would need upgrading: gearbox, shafts, hubs etc.

you could always spin it slowly. finding something like 50-70hp n/a is expensive even with a v6. The rotrex might be the cheap option.
