Would be an absolute weapon in sprints and hill climbs. I think in the speed event types as opposed to circuit racing the electric motorsport revolution will arrive much sooner.

If I could get an electric conversion kit for a Mk.1 for the same sort of price as a Rocketeer V6 kit, I would think about it for commuting. It wouldn't even have to be significantly faster than the stock engine and I'd tolerate about 80 mile range if that was guaranteed even in winter. The prices just aren't anywhere near realistic for our sort of enthusiast's cars yet. Still in the realm of people happy to spend all the money for a restored cool collectible car.
