Hi guys n gals. I've negotiated a bit of a discount for the Gurston Down Hill Climb School for a small group! The normal price is £175 and if I get a group of 5 we can do it for £160. The date is 2nd June 2020 Link to the blurb on the website www.gurstondown.org/gurston-down-hill-climb-school/Should be a good day out, get some teaching on how to drive a hill climb properly! Currently have one last spot left. Drop me a Pm if interested!

I'd like to do one of these but it's 145 miles each way for me probably not a fun drive with a 4.778:1 diff Rich.

Its Only 130 Miles for me ( Each Way ) Nothing wrong with an early start and a Low Ratio Diff.

Hi Rasc, By the time this comes around I should be in the RS Ltd with ITBs Skimmed head and Piper 285 cams plus a few other bits and bobs. ( Circa 180 BHP hoped for ) Similar build to Quinns in the USA ( Garage Quinn Motors ) I have done the Prescott school in 1990@s I have never been to Gurston Down !!

I’ve done this 3 times (it’s just up the road to be fair!) It’s probably the best value track day out I’ve done. Tea and biccys, great lunch, you get to drive the hill loads of times and the instruction is very good. There is always a good mix of cars, ages, abilities.
Highly recommended

Very nice, should be super responsive. Different take as I have turbo and 240 wbhp. As for Gurston then do it, like I said great fun.

Thanks Dweenimus for the post, it prompted me to get sorting something. @rickster was talking about Gurston at the last solo, got that clutch fixed yet? So it looks like there's also a group of us going on May 5th 2020, so if anyone wants to join in and benefit from the group discount let me know.

Hi Folks, There is a Big Question Mark hanging over this event now due the current times. ( All Driving Schools Cancelled this Year ) I was just about to book accomodation when this Covid thing kicked off. Thats Buggered up my 60th Birthday Present to Myself. On a happier note I sent the ITB car to get it set up and rolling roaded then MOT tested last week. I had a call from the rolling road to say they were shutting for three weeks but at least the car is around 172 BHP with a bit more dyno time to come. So at least I will have a new car to play with for my birthday assuming the DVLA car give me a number plate for it once it has passed its MOT. I am one of the lucky ones at the moment as I still have work to go to. So I still get to drive the other Rs to work

I guess the classroom stuff would be impossible unless it was a really big room.

Hi Folks, A few of my local hillclimb events have been cancelled so I checked the Gurston site. The cancellation notice is on the main page not the school page. www.gurstondown.org/category/news/They will be contacting everyone in due course.
