My sister, nephews and their families all live in various places not far from Chelmsford-, Wickford, Danbury etc, I like it round there, nice countryside. It just seems a bit busy and hectic compared to North Dorset!
Lets us know when you are in the area if it looks like good driving weather Who knows, maybe we will get organised some time and pre arrange a meet. At the moment it's more like "Do ya fancy a quick blat? Let's go..."

I think the white wheels look great but I can see how making them grey/metal colour would look more 'sleeper' / base-spec. Can you run magnesium wheels 'naked'? I know they won't explode into a ball of flame when they get wet, lol, but do they oxidise or anything??

I also think an old school matt dirty bronzed finish could look ace.

Thanks V6. Your silver car looks properly tidy, and that's even before you consider what's under the skin. Although the Super RAPs look like steel wheels they are actually a magnesium alloy built for racing, and weigh about the same as your Enkei RPF1s. The best reference for the wheels is the Kyushu Shoes page
Another good webpage is this one. It lists the PCD, centre bore and offsets for a huge array of car models of all the major brands. The Pulsar listing suggests a 59mm bore (MX5 is 54.1mm) Offsets between 35 and 42mm, and 4x100 pcd. It's a really handy page. It would seem all the wheels built for Tailgate McNoIndicate MINIs will also fit our cars which I hadn't realised (4x100, et35, cb 57)

You do have to be a bit careful with magnesium wheels; they dissolve if you use the standard paint strippers used by wheel refurb places! Here's what they should look like after a polish. Clear lacquer over the top would keep them looking nice, but if you get a chip and water gets trapped underneath then you get that matt 'milky' finish but can't polish it away easily like you could if you left them naked.

Ooooh, they are nice I can see why you might want those! They would be a PITA to keep clean, though... lol

Thanks for the invite, and the welcome to the forum. A Sunday blast could work well for me this week. You're right - there are some massive piles around here! Piles of 'what' depends on whether you're considering the Braxted estate or something a little newer Re wheels: I was in contact with Fizbne about his wheels, and he put me on to those Vredestein tyres. So far I have nothing but good things to say about them. A 185/60/14 weighs 14.4lbs. The Bridgestone Super RAPs came off an imported Pulsar GTiR. They are 14x6 +38. Unlike just about every picture on the web mine have a reinforcing outer lip which makes me think they were designed for rallying. Currently trying to decide if they should stay white or if I should get them polished. Glad to have helped, they're brilliant tyres for sure!

My pleasure. One of the best days behind the wheel for ages. Properly impressed with how drivable your car is.
I've got my fingers wedged into nooks and crannies trying to avoid sliding down the slippery tuning slope! The problem is a mild tune suddenly seems less exciting!

It was good to experience chalk and cheese! I could get used to The Beast but it was also good to have an upper rev range not induce feelings of terror lol Getting nearly airborne on a straight, apparently flat bit of riad was, er, 'interesting', though... haha

For what felt like a long second or so we were flying like a mk1 rally Escort. Landed well with no scraping but was amusing haha

I forgot all about this thread. Just to keep it alive...
Had a good run out today to Snomad's toy box in the countryside. Good chat and amazing weather.
Lovely empty roads too. All the trained robot sheep are clearly cowering at home banging pans together lol.
