The Diff lower mount/stop washer, whatever they're called. That are attached with onto two m8s studs in the rear subframe. Anyone ever had these snap?
Just been under the car and a stuf on each has snapped so only one bolt holds the lower mount in position.
Are they just studs that can be replaced? Googling doesn't offer up any answers.

These are the studs I'm on about: Anyone ever experienced this before? I'm hoping it's not a new subframe job!

Far as I can see (from a couple of photos I took before sending mine off for blasting and coating) those studs go through a fairly thin flat plate and may be spot welded in. There's just a low flattish mushroom head above the plate. The easiest repair would be to drill it out to 8mm clear and drop a bolt through the hole from above (if you can then get a spanner in place to hold it while you tighten it). Or do that but weld the bolt in (which would probably be a subframe out job). Or drill it undersize, tap the hole to M8 and screw a new bolt in from above with some Loctite to stop it backing out later when you tighten the nut.

By the way, that piece of rusty wreckage that looks like been in the sea for many years came up a treat after blasting and coating. The tech at WIM who did my alignment asked if the rear subframe was new.

Perfect, thanks for the photo also, I'll have another look tonight and see how access is. I think drilling it out would be the best way to go, but I'm also not a million miles away from pulling the subframe, but that was a job for next year. I'll update once I've had a closer look.

Hey I know you posted this many years ago, but I have the same issue right now and wondered if you could tell me what bolt and nut you used. I have yet to find the info online, I think because they are welded on they are not seen as a replacement part. I have also seen many people online say that they dont think both are needed and drive without them. I dont love the idea of that, but am considering it if I cant replace it. Thanks

Thanks HI only just seen this, I ended up drilling it out and refitting a nut/bolt in the end. It's a bit of a chew to get access in there but it is possible.
