There is a huge spectrum of hubs for the mk1/2 cars. Some roller bearing exotics that I wont go into, oem @ 145£, IL @ 70£ and mx5parts no named @30£. Has anyone that tracks their car used the cheap ones? I plan to repack with redline cv2 regardless, but well, if they are any good and I get five for the price of one oem.... Hit me with your experience

front? I'm re-packing old origonal roadcar items, thinking being that they are oem quality & un-stressed.... would prefer aluminium / taper-roller items but the 'off the shelf' options are too expensive & I'm too busy to design & machine my own Rich.

Oh, yup, front. Pressing the old bearing out like you did could be an option. But I would really like to know if a 30£ hub repacked with good grease can stand up to hard track abuse.

I pressed the rear bearing out with a custom puller which uses a portopower jack. It went up to 12 Tonne PSI before it moved. I freezed the replacement bearing in ziploc back and heated the hub up in the range, it all went back together nicely. I bought a special circlip removing tool for the huge circlip.
Bearing is from IL Motorsports.
NAB-702624-IL 29.63 Euro
Please notice! the set consists of: 1 wheel bearing 1 lock ring 1 seal ring 1 nut 19mm 1 nut 22mm

Only one way to find out... Yup. Hopefully the cheap ones will get loose before catastrophic failure. So that one has a chance noticing.
