Only just seen your reply. I ordered the large fitting kit an hour ago I just need to see which generic battery may fit locally. ps If anyone would like a cheap very small and very light odyssey with all mounting hardware get in touch. Should be perfect for a 1.6 or 1.8. Will bolt into standard oem floor holes, PM'd

I just replied in order to the two who sent me PMs first. If neither of those want it then we can talk Zed Thanks all, thought it may sit around a while yet. Being fair and doing it in timing order.

IIRC 063s were fitted to the mk2.5s - that's what the Tayna battery checker recommends for a mk1, which is wrong.

When my new tray arrives I will take it with me to look at batteries, to make sure I don't mess up.

How much work would it be to wire in the oddyssey under the bonnet? This would reduce cable run and leave the boot completely free which would be handy on Autosolo days as I do tend to carry a fair bit of spares/kit "just in case" I've done a bit of searching but didn't come up with any definitive articles, most responses preaching that folks stick to the original size battery and stock location.

The Odyssey is so small you may not even notice it! Sits only a few inches high.

I've sited batteries behind seats and as passanger /navigators footrests on rallycars so with an mx5 maybe next to the ecu behind the false-floor? Rich.

Picked up a UK made 063 size battery with a 3 year warranty. Fits the kit tray ok. Top bar isn't a perfect fit though but I can add padding.
Just need the metal tray bracket now. Ebay failed me.

Was the bracket one of the links I posted yesterday / the other day? (The one that bolts into the floor?) If it is that one, and you are going to order one, let me know as I need one too lol

I'll see your mobility scooter battery and raise you a lawnmower battery
I looked at the Odyssey batteries but the PC680 weighs the same as the above (7kg) so it's not really that light.
