I have been thinking about adding a bias/proportioning valve but also have read that some people remove the pressure reducer for the rear lines with the same purpose. the standard f/r bias is very front biased going up on the front brake efficiency will not help matters is the rear disc / caliper any different on the 1.8 mk1's? if not then maybe worth gutting / removing the compensator to test? I'm not a fan of the generic 'bias valves', seen too many issues with them Rich. I fitted a wilwood proportional valve to mine (basically same cost as generic motamec ones) and it made a big difference. Looks smart that, great photos! Thanks, I didn't take the photos (obvs) apart from the sunset one. Most of the work (suspension, brakes, roll bar, spoiler) was done by the most recent owner. I discovered another previous owner by searching for the numberplate in google, found him on Pistonheads and sent him a message - he sent me some pics of what it used to look like when it lived on the Isle of Wight:

I've got some Enkei wheels that look very much like that, and one day will fit them on my white '90 Eunos so this has shown me what they'll look like although the wheels do look like those Triumph used on the Spitfires (& unfortunately, the acclaim ) Rich.

Before I get into any of that, I am going to try to improve the rear braking performance. The lower sliders on both sides are pretty rusty/bumpy so I'm going to change them all, and the rubber boots. Discs and pads look OK. I measured the discs/pads at both ends, and it turns out I have the NB Sport front discs (279 mm) and NA standard rears (231 mm), so having more powerful front brakes must just make the front bias worse.
I'm also going to get some new tyres - despite being only a few years old, the Pilot Sport 3s are very hard so can't be doing a lot of flexing to the road. They came with the wheels but the previous owner had used them on track, so they probably got too many heat cycles. Also I'm going to go for a higher profile sidewall (195/65), partly for more 'suspension' on bumpy roads, and partly to raise the ride height, as my coilovers are extended as long as they can go but I'm still hitting too many rocks and ruts. Will see how that all helps.

Over December I finally got new tyres fitted, the 195/65s were too tall and wouldn't fit in the arches, so I went to 195/55s (see the saga on the 'what did you do to your 5 today' thread). Originally bought Uniroyal Rain Experts but got Rainsport 5s for just a few quid more in the lower profile. They fit OK, will have to see if they scrape the arches on big bumps or sharp turns, but so far so good. The extra ride height seems to help avoid bottoming out on the bigger lumps and detritus in the lanes, so should be good for navigational rallies...if we can ever get back to doing that. I also replaced all the sliding components of the rear brake calipers, including the piston on one side. The other side wasn't sticky but I'll probably swap it anyway so they are the same both sides. Still something wrong with the adjuster for the handbrake as one side is much weaker and turning the splined adjuster doesn't do anything - maybe it's got chewed up already. Either way it was good enough to pass the MOT. Old vs new sliders here: Replaced all the hoses for the windscreen wipers, and have bought the Ford Maverick sprayer nozzle thingies to put on as well. The existing ones work OK but have 2 jets which miss the bits of screen in between. My wipers go so slowly that half the fluid has drained off before it gets wiped across, so will eventually look at why they are so slow. In the meantime maybe the different nozzles will get the screen a bit cleaner. I also replaced both the gearstick rubber gaiters with OEM parts, and the nylon bush. Don't think there was any oil left in the turret either. Can't say I've noticed much difference in the shift quality, heat or road noise, but it's good for peace of mind if nothing else. Old ones were pretty shagged: Discovered a small tear in my rear plastic screen, will duct tape it up for now as that shouldn't obscure vision any more than the opaque plastic already does. So I'm on the lookout for a new hood. Carhood Warehouse is only a few miles away and does supply and fit of mohair with glass window for just under £600, though they aren't sure if it'll fold past my roll bar so I'll probably have to go over there for them to measure up. Any other recommended options? I'd be prepared to have a go a fitting it myself, though I don't know how much money that would save me.

The Maverick 'mist' washer jets will defo give a good improvement, for how little they cost it was a very worthwhile upgrade on my car. As you said, the double spray on the standard nozzles isn't the most accurate and these cover much more of the screen.

I fitted them last night, wasn't a direct replacement as the connector to the hoses was about half an inch longer on my original jets than on the Maverick ones, but I worked something out. Definitely a better coverage of the screen than the two jets per nozzle versions!

Ahh ok was a pretty easy straight swap on my car, can't remember any issues but that rings a bell about the lengths - the washer fluid pipes still went on fine tho with no modification needed - at least you got them on that's the main thing Yeah, the little rubber elbows with a circular skirt were too short to reach through the hole and join the ends of the jets, so I put a small length of hose on the end of the jets and connected the hoses to them instead of via the elbows. Luckily the pack of aquarium hose and fittings had plenty of options to choose from.

I have been pondering getting some new suspension for my Eunos, as not only are the HSDs very hard for bumpy back lanes, but they also provide very little ride height, so even when fully extended the car is still a bit low. I've got some higher profile tyres now which helps, but I still need another few cm to clear some of the worst ruts and especially if a rally takes us on white roads. Since the rally season doesn't overlap much with the speed/track season it wouldn't be too bad to raise/lower it a couple of times a year, though it would be good to be able to do more of my own alignment/setup at home, so I don't have to take it somewhere and pay £100 a time.
So if anyone is getting rid of a set of decent coilovers, I could be tempted...
