Can any current or previous NC owners offer any buying advice or tips?
My uncle is looking to move on from a NB And asked me for any specific things to check. I’ve had a few NAs but have never even sat in a NC!
Trying to find a buying guide / checklist online has turned up some fairly generic “inspect the body for rust & check oil filler for mayo” type guides.
Since the NC can now be had for just a few thousand how about collating the mighty NC checklist?
Some thoughts to kick it off:
Where does the body rust that affects structure / MOT potential?
Any common issues with the oily bits on the NC and checks to identify?
Where do the electrical gremlins hang out in the NC?
Any minor/cosmetic things that are absolute pain to fix?
Any model/spec preferred or to be avoided?
To keep it simple probably best to assume future readers know how to check a generic (non mx5) car prior to purchase.
I am assuming, of course, that there are some issues and things to look out for!
