I want to fit an extra relay* to the rail under the plastic cover at the left rear of the engine bay. This seems harder than it should be.
My 1993 1.8 Roadster has 2 out of the 3 rail positions occupied, by an LA12 and an LA10 relay. The LA12 (which I think earlier Roadsters use as the headlight retractor relay) is fitted but unused; literally not plugged into anything. That's perfect as I want to fit a changeover type, the LA12 is a changeover type and I can repurpose it. Except I can't find anyone selling a socket so I can make up a loom to plug into it.
I'd happily fit a different brand/model but I can't even find anyone selling alternative relays & sockets which will clip onto that type of rail.
People must have done this before. My Google-fu is weak. Help me, someone.
*I'm fitting a normally-closed relay in the LC-1 wideband power feed so that when it occasionally gets it's knickers in a twist booting up and flashes its LED in dismay I can reboot it with a push of a button, instead of having to pull over, turn off and restart.

You don’t need a socket, just wire it up using spade connectors

I'm considering that, but what size of spade connectors would fit the tiny coil pins on the LA12?
(I know I typed a reply to andreww but it's not here so I guess I somehow failed to post it. Thanks for the link but they don't stock the right socket for the LA12 relay. It's a smaller relay even than an ISO micro relay and although the switch contacts are on three 6.3mm blades, the coil pins appear to be slim little things less than 2mm wide.)
It begins to look like I might have to try to get a used socket with a pigtail of cable from a breaker.

I’m sure you can get new spade connectors that small, years ago when I rebuilt a Vauxhall loom I got the parts from RS components, worth a try, but always a risk of shorting between the terminals, I recall potting my efforts with silicone.

Yeah, that might do it, thanks. Might even have a few of that style if I search.
I also had a rummage at work and found some small insulated crimps that might do. Guess they're for 1/8" spades which is larger than ideal but they take a strong grip so might be the solution.
