Hi all so after previously selling my mk1 Buying a ps13 and buying a 4age corolla I'm back to daily driving another mk1 and enjoying it a bit too much so it's time for me to thinking about "building"a good reliable streetable 5 again so yeah this is the journey of the second Log Canoe mainly for myself to document not really fussed if anyone takes interest But here goes. I recently bought a E46 3.0 diesel was possibly the nicest car I've owned in terms of comfort and practicality. That lasted 2 months untill I sold it and started my search for a mk1 again. So the search for me was find one with a few reasonable bits, least amount of rust.

So here is what I decided to buy a 1.8 import previous owner before last had done a few bits and a track day or two maybe it will be recognised here. The plan was to find something with some half decent bits and really I got a good deal considering they are going up in value now. Managed to get 4 spare crap wheels ontop of the crap wheels it came on A heated oem hardtop that needs minor work some jass mounts for it Torsen Gc fab roll bar and harness Meister crd The paint is awful but plans are to paint it white anyway was expecting any 5 I get to need painting so no issue there. It's not bad for a grand low miles and the underside is pretty good!

Mine is a genuine Chaste White Mk1, the only other white one round my way is one that has been resprayed white and was originally a different colour

So this week we've tackled gremlins like a power steering pump wedged with a bolt far too big and without the spacer to keep the pump aligned. Idiot previous owner couldn't work out why it was throwing belts off š standard. Got a knock from the rear which I've found to be the bolts have given up on the roll bar leaving it slightly loose. Got another mk1 to break in so I've now got countless spares so I'm going to build two polly Subframes and just swap the lot over far easier So this donor car had brand new hsd gcfab harness bar A full stainless exhaust its a 1.6 so no good to me anyway cost me 500 sold the hsd and harness bar made my 500 back and I've got a full car of spares sorted. Decided to use the 10th ae wheels with spacers for now untill I have the adapters to run my 4x114 wheels so it's oem with spice right. Took the gv lip off the donor too did a bit of a paint looks a bit more interesting Also while we were at it have fitted a corbeau club sport which are incredibly light and comfy seats and just about fit in a 5 which is great also the 320mm OBA wheel for that perfect steering input feel Awaiting some knuckles and extended lower arms now plus get those adapters ordered. Probably won't touch the interior as I have no need to. Once I've figured fitment out with everything I can prep the body work for paint which is decent
