Love it, got a soft spot for Civics ... should have kept hold of my old EF, wish I could find another one at reasonable money! Russell Now I have one I do get it, I always thought they were cool, but yeah great little cars, even with the pov 90hp engine haha. Oh mate, EFs have gone up big time, I mean a lot of Japanese stuff has, but those old Civics, EFs and EGs, going for strong money these days! I never even thought to modify the seat cushion, worst case if you don't get on with them they go in the MX5 quite easily, the reclined position hopefully wouldn't be as big an issue. It has worked very nicely, and I don't sit with the top of my head miles above the top of the seat now haha. It would go in the 5, but I'm all about my mega low Skidnation rails which need side mount seats. I might eventually upgrade the 5 seat to something really nice instead of the battered old Sprint that's in there haha.

So as we all know, Civics are hilarious when they're loud. Well this already has a stainless manifold/downpipe, and a Spoon rep exhaust. It was loud, but it wasn't Honda rasp levels. So a friend of mine made this for me: I tell you, it do be loud now hahaha. Proper loud, but still quiet enough on idle and cruise not to feel like a Canoe, but as soon as you go over 3,500rpm, jeez. It's almost decat and straightpipe backbox IS200 loud hahaha. I also had an absolutely stonks moment when I contacted the cat guy my mates all use when breaking cars, and he gave me £167 for this rusty old piece of crap! More money in the 5 pot now to get stuff sorted. Nice.

Depending on code anywhere from £400-£750 haha. My mate got £630 for his mk2 cat a few months ago. It's why so many people are having them stolen off 5s lately, it's more common knowledge how much they're worth now.

Is there any specific place that buys Mk2 cats, or how can you tell which is the expensive one? Only asking as my mate as a Mk2 on a V plate and once I told him about this his eyes lit up LOL!

Hahaha, so the guy we used is on Facebook, his name is Edvard Edva on there. My mates have used him for several MX-5 cats and Tailgate McNoIndicate cats from various breakers they've had, and he has always paid quickly and given a really really good price. For mk2 cats it's all based on the code which is sometimes hard to see, but is stamped on the edge of the heatshield lip, where the 2 sections meet each other, it's written vertically down that. Sometimes needs a bit of a wire brushing to make it visible enough for a photo. There is a post Edvard put up a few months ago listing cat prices for each code for mk2s/2.5s, however the prices change daily depending on the market price of the metals within. The good news is currently those prices seem to have gone mad, and I'm not joking a mate just sold his cat which was the luckily the most desirable of all the mk2 cat codes, for £940!

Bough a cheap grille, like £13 delivered lol. It was awful, I cut the plastic centre grille mesh out and put some black metal grille mesh in. Then sprayed it with primer, decent colour cans, and lacquer. All went well except I put a thumb print in the top right corner when it was still wet hahaha: Had some red left in the can, so decided to do the same to my steering wheel (identical to the one in the 5). The Civic had a bendy suede wheel fitted, this one is far better! Came out alright, but got some paint runs haha, went a bit heavy on the coats: It's a touge machine! Well apart from the 195/65/15s it still has hahaha. I have some Autostars I got off a mate, which will be going on with 195/45/15s when I have money for tyres.
