I won the Classic Marques class but came 3rd by 0.21 sec in the CM entry as there were a couple of cars that were entered in other classes that also run in the competition. My best time was 50.05 which was 2 seconds quicker than my previous Pb.
2 seconds?! I take it your previous PB was in the supercharged iteration?
Yes. The turbo is massively quicker. I need to save up for a plate diff as I was losing quite a bit of time out of the slow corners spinning the unloaded inner wheel with the torsen.

I did the figure of 8 layout at curborough last weekend, first sprint for a couple of years, and 4 years since I last did the figure of 8.finally got under 70 seconds, just. Did a 69.99! I was pleased with that. A 1.4 MG ZR managed to roll over 4 times, no idea how, but he was ok, luckily

Doing Borough 19's Lydden Hill sprint this Saturday, 1.75 laps per run which is going to make my lap timer very confused! There are a few from the Classic Marques club there howardb66, Mark Harris in the MX5, plus an MGC, Tailgate McNoIndicate Z4 and 330.

Yes, only a 5 are at Lydden because there’s a date clash due to the Combe sprint being moved. There are 25 entered for Combe I think. I’m not doing either event though. Harry should do pretty well.

Had a great time at Lydden Hill on Saturday, it was too bleddy hot but running with the roof down helped a bit. Probably not as aerodynamic but with such a short track and a top speed of ~80mph I'm not sure it really makes a lot of difference to the times.
I finished a couple of seconds ahead of second place (the Lotus Cortina who beat me at Hethel) and it was lots of fun. Had a big moment coming out of Devil's Elbow on my last run where I was throwing caution to the wind, managed to catch it and not lose too much time.

Second in class (of 2!) at Hethel again on Sunday, behind Bob in his Lotus Cortina. I did improve my time marginally over the first event in April, which is something, but Bob improved his too and was 4 seconds ahead! Just found out I've got an entry in the Watergate Bay sprint (near Newquay) on the weekend of 18/19 September, then I'll probably do one more early October and that's the end of my season.

not a sprint or hillclmb but theres the 'Lombard Rally Festival Tredegar' tomorrow www.facebook.com/Lombard-Rally-Festival-Tredegar-113958620039769it's a non competitive blast through a park on a 1.3 mile route although I presume there'll be some unofficial timing and some of the entries can pedal a bit quick 44 cars entered and first car off @ 10.00hrs (30 second intervals for starts) also, I've come out of retirement to sit on the wrong side in a Mk2 escort and it's been 11 years since I last navigated so hopefully no also, my race overalls don't fit better than workin innit Rich.

it was a little wet and slippery in the morning, this was an idea of what to do (or not to do?) I'm on the left holding the map great fun, lot faster in the later / dry afternoon runs although this was a demonstration not competitive day so no timing recorded. Rich. Rich.

a quicker afternoon run in drier weather - OK, it's Wales so was soggy start was uphill all the way to the first corner & this taxed the 1600 engine was having clutch issues @ start all day, wouldn't hookup when launching but didn't slip when driving, think we know the issue & it is an old / used / very second-hand unit so no complaints here... I know it's not a 5 but..... stollen from www.facebook.com/JJPMediaWales/photos/a.605861084134069/605855460801298/Rich.
