Hello, my old mk1 sounded amazing , it had a stainless exhaust from block to backbox and it had been decatted. The airbox had ben replaced with a blitz cone filter that suffered from heat soak.
I now have a mk2.5 that sounds rubbish, it has the stock induction and exhaust systems.
For exhaust I was looking at replacing the manifold, mid pipe and baxk box with the moss one as moss are local to me.
For induction I know that the stock airbox is good so I want some recommendations that sound good but doesnt result in loss of power, i am not expecting any massive power gains.

Can always drill the airbox if you want a bit of extra induction noise. Just make sure it's the intake side of the filter, not the engine side. Racing beat or Jackson racing intakes if you want to spend money also give a small horsepower gain. A "Randall cowl" type intake through into the scuttle probably isn't feasible on a MK2 thanks to ABS unit being in the way.
Then if you want to have plenty of NA power fun there's ITBS...
The Moss Cobalt exhaust is a decent not too loud option, good noise and quality

thanks Corders, I was thinking drilling the airbox might be the best bet for induction. I cannot go ITB due to the regs of the events I enter. Racing beat is £££££££ though good quality. i am not sure about the jackson racing one as i will replace the rad at some point with a fast5 style one which I think means the Jackson racing one will not fit.

Mx5parts exhaust is also a good option, if a little boomy but that might be the same for the cobalt.
Mk2's can use a K&N typhoon kit, quite a few come up for sale second hand so could easily pick one up cheaply. I don't think they add anything like the Jackson kits, but they do sound good.
Plenty second hand parts on the Facebook pages, so sure you'd find something if £££ is a consideration.

Braaaaaaap pfsssssst Yep!😂 Makes a massive difference to the torque but not so much on the power- +20 hp but +50lbft so that should(?) make a difference on the hills.... We’ll see.
