I recently bought a mx5 1.8 2004, and the engine light has come on. I’ve managed to clear it by disconnecting the battery and so far it’s not reappeared but I’ve only driven it 7 miles to work.
The car has been fitted with a decat pipe, would this be the reason it threw the light on?
If it’s the reason what need to be done to the car to stop it?
Car drives fine with it on! Next time I’ll get the codes read.
