From what I understand, E10 is replacing the regular grade fuel. As you say, run your MX5 on ‘premium’ & it’ll be fine.

STOP SCAREMONGERING use it & stop panicing.... only possible worry is that rubber fuel pipes and components could errode but their easily replaced. also, higher ethenol content can allow tuning for more torque (if you've a suitable setup) but at the cost of economy... can also use a 'Flexfuel' sensor if you want to be clever Rich.

So only risk of fuel leakage and a massive fire? lol you're gonna die one day you should have an extinguisher in the car if you're Safety conscious:P and the time taken for your ~30 year old fuel-system components to degrade you'll probably not own the car anyway if you're worried then replace the old hoses / 'O' rings and pressure-reg and be happy that all this might have been needing replacement due to age anyway? normal petrol has had 5% ethenol (E5). for years, the scaremongering damage started years ago.... not forgetting the water in the steel fuel tank Rich.

Just use it. And if worried, change to gates barrier.
We switched years ago in Sweden without ill effects.
Also. When tuning my car i picked up 18nm at the wheels from only switching from petrol to e85. No tuning it whatsoever.
Ethanol is king.
