That's Ronnie Corbett said goodnight for the last time. From 2 Ronnies, to 1 Ronnie, and now no Ronnies When I was a kid they were staple viewing on the telly. Whether Barker or Corbett was funnier is immaterial; as a duo they were genius.

They were the sole reason that as a kid, I hid behind curtains in the house... waiting to pounce out as the phantom raspberry blower of olde London town! Great TV to grow up on!

Not a good year for my childhood icons. So very sad but he had a good innings and provided laughter and happiness to millions for decades. We should all be so lucky.

A sad day, the Two Ronnies was a staple in our household when I was growing up.
I always remember this sketch - who'd have thought that the Two Ronnies would be doing txt speak back then, and we thought it was a modern day invention!
There's something on BBC2 tonight at 8pm that may be worth a watch.
